Flexo® Stainless Steel
Braided Stainless Steel, Pre-Rounded For Installation Ease
Nothing protects hoses from wear and blowout quite like real Flexo® Stainless Steel braid. It looks great in any application and is as strong as, well, steel. But, custom hoses overbraided with stainless steel are expensive, selections are often limited and production and delivery times can be an issue. Now, you can take any stock or custom hose, slip a length of Flexo® Stainless Steel expandable sleeving over it, hide the cut ends under your clamps and have the same look and protection as custom overbraided hoses at a fraction of the cost. Flexo® Stainless is braided from strong 304 stainless steel wires, cuts with shears or serrated scissors, is pre-rounded for easy, slip on installation and is available in diameters and expansion ranges accommodate virtually any common hose or wire application.

What Are The Benefits of Metal Sleeving Products?
EMI/RFI Shielding: Metal braided sleeving provides excellent electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) shielding. The metal braids in the sleeve create a conductive shield that blocks out interference and prevents signal loss.
Durability: Metal braided sleeving is extremely durable and can withstand high temperatures, abrasion, and chemicals. This makes it an ideal choice for use in harsh environments or in applications where the sleeving may be subjected to high stress or wear and tear.
Beauty & Aesthetics: Metal braided sleeving can be an attractive choice for use in applications where appearance is important. The sleeving can be made from a variety of metals, including stainless steel, copper, and brass which can add a unique finish to your project
Easy Installation: Metal braided sleeving is easy to install and can be cut to length using shears. It can also be secured in place using a variety of methods, including heat shrink tubing, cable ties, clamps, or adhesive tapes.
We believe sleeving is the best of all worlds when it's time to deal with harnesses, snakes and bundles, and we want to convince you that some type of sleeving will be the perfect balance of economy, ease of use and long term usability for your applications. Unlike other products designed for cable management, expandable sleeving is quick and economical to install on applications of virtually any length. In addition, the reduced weight and volume of sleeving is negligible to the overall diameter and weight of the application. The visual appeal of braided sleeving is an important factor as well. Many companies and individuals the world over use Techflex® brand braided sleeving for their wires, tubes, cords, and more. For professional applications, home installations, and even arts and crafts projects, Techflex® braided sleeving is your best solution!
Tips for Installing & Terminating Braided Sleeving
How To Determine What Diameter Sleeving You Need
Bundle the cords that you’ll be covering and measure the diameter of the bundle. If you want a snug fit, choose a braided sleeving option with a slightly smaller diameter than that of your cables. If you want a loose and flexible fit, choose a braided sleeving option with a diameter that is equal to or slightly larger than that of your cables. Keep in mind that braided sleeving loses 2% to 3% of its length when it expands. Be sure to plan accordingly!
How To Cut Metal Sleeving Without Fray
To prevent fraying when cutting any metal braid, slip the sleeving over the intended application to get an accurate measurement, wrap the area to be cut with a couple of turns of tape, mark the cut and remove the sleeving. Use shears or serrated scissors to cut through the tape and sleeving. Don’t remove the tape until the sleeving is installed and you’re ready to terminate the end.
How To Terminate Sleeving with Heatshrink Tubing
Heatshrink Tubing is the ideal way to create a tight, professional finish on any wire, hose or cable management project. Once shrunk, the tubing will hold its reduced state, even at elevated temperatures. This application can be used to protect, color code, brand, or secure ends or sections of braided sleeving. A Heat Gun is required to properly apply heatshrink tubing. You can find a guide to the proper technique for working with heatshrink tubing Here.
