FLEXO F6®
Flexible, Semi-Rigid Wrappable Split Braided Tube
Flexo® F6's unique split, semi-rigid braided construction make it the ideal solution for situations where ease of installation is of primary importance. The lateral split allows the tube to open up to accommodate a wide variety of bundling requirements, and the semi-rigid braid configuration simply closes around the entire installation without the need for any additional fasteners (VELCRO® Brand Ties, tape, etc.). The 10 mil F6® braid is lightweight, quiet and flexible. The 25% edge overlap (at nominal diameter) allows coverage around inline plugs, connectors and splices. F6® will bend to a tight radius without distorting or splitting open and, unlike full rigid tubing, will not impair or affect the flexibility of harnesses.

We believe sleeving is the best of all worlds when it's time to deal with harnesses, snakes and bundles, and we want to convince you that some type of sleeving will be the perfect balance of economy, ease of use and long term usability for your applications. Unlike other products designed for cable management, expandable sleeving is quick and economical to install on applications of virtually any length. In addition, the reduced weight and volume of sleeving is negligible to the overall diameter and weight of the application. The visual appeal of braided sleeving is an important factor as well. Many companies and individuals the world over use Techflex® brand braided sleeving for their wires, tubes, cords, and more. For professional applications, home installations, and even arts and crafts projects, Techflex® braided sleeving is your best solution!
Flexo F6® is a unique split, semi-rigid side entry braided sleeve (also referred to as split loom or wrap around sleeve). F6® offers the standard protective qualities of braided sleeving with some added benefits including:
Easy Installation: Split braided sleeving can be installed easily without the need to remove or disconnect any wires or cables. The split design allows the sleeving to be wrapped around the cables, and features a self-closing construction.
Flexibility: The split design allows the sleeving to flex and bend without causing any damage to the wires or cables inside. This makes it ideal for applications where cables need to move, route around corners, or bend frequently.
Organization (& Reorganization): Split loom can bundle multiple cables together for one streamline harness while allowing cables to be added or removed without removing the split sleeving.
Tips for Installing & Terminating Braided Sleeving
How To Determine What Diameter Sleeving You Need
Bundle the cords that you’ll be covering and measure the diameter of the bundle. If you want a snug fit, choose a braided sleeving option with a slightly smaller diameter than that of your cables. If you want a loose and flexible fit, choose a braided sleeving option with a diameter that is equal to or slightly larger than that of your cables. Keep in mind that braided sleeving loses 2% to 3% of its length when it expands. Be sure to plan accordingly!
How To Cut Sleeving with a Hot Knife
To ensure a frayless, professional end on any installation, it is recommended that expandable braided sleeving be cut with a hot knife, rope cutter, or similar tool. We offer a wide variety of Hot Knives for different applications, including handheld knives, table knives, and replacement blades. Watch our video on Using A Hot Knife To Cut Braided Expandable Sleeving.
How To Terminate Sleeving with Heatshrink Tubing
Heatshrink Tubing is the ideal way to create a tight, professional finish on any wire, hose or cable management project. Once shrunk, the tubing will hold its reduced state, even at elevated temperatures. This application can be used to protect, color code, brand, or secure ends or sections of braided sleeving. A Heat Gun is required to properly apply heatshrink tubing. You can find a guide to the proper technique for working with heatshrink tubing Here.
How To Install Sleeving with the F6® Tool
This simple plastic tool makes installing long lengths of F6® sleeving a breeze. If you have ever run wiring through split tubing you know that it can be frustrating. Without this tool, the more wires you have, the harder it is. When you have to add a wire, it can really slow you down. With this premium wire loom tool, you can add and remove wires quickly and easily. Simply gather the wires you want into the installation tool and then insert the tool and wires into any split tubing or semi-rigid sleeving like Flexo F6®. Run the tool through the tubing, smooth it out with your hand and you are finished. For more information view our F6® Install Tool Instructions.
